This design came from a simple, sweet card that my daughter drew for a friend, when she was just about 7 years old. The pattern is 24x39". The drawing had a primitive star for the flower on the front and I fell in love with it. I needed a rug for our doorway, without a top or bottom so I adapted the flower to this rug design, and added some elements to fill it out. I showed our daughter my version of her flower and she added more elements that added to the whimsical, primitive nature of it.
