I was inspired by a punched tin panel on a great old pie safe and adapted the design to a rug pattern. I love those pie safes and always wished I could find one in my price range. This pattern is the basis for a punch needle design that I've had out for years and is one of my most popular patterns. The design lends itself to outlining and using contrasting colors for the details and lines of the circles, stars and diamond, not to mention the whirligig element in the center.
