Come Little Bees Hooked Rug Pattern
Come Little Bees Hooked Rug Pattern
from $62.00
***MY NEWEST PATTERN***Just finished!
This pattern evolved out of a love of bees skeps and the longing for spring colors, during our cold Iowa winter. There is something really fascinating about the old time bees skeps and the industriousness of bees. They have such a dedicated life! I found this verse and couldn't get it out of my head until I put it in a design. I love finding cool quotes. The flowers of our farm always ensure we have busy bees. Finished size is 23x27" without a border but a border can be added if you prefer. Just send me a convo regarding adding a border.
I needed to hook with soft spring colors so the rug looked kind of old but there are just so many ways to hook this pattern! It seems I say this a lot but I do think it's true. Bold summer colors, tawny autumn colors and even neutrals would look great. It hooks up quickly since its a nice medium sized piece and I'll even include my finishing tips to give the rug a cool, unconventional finish. Pattern is drawn on primitive linen or monks cloth, your choice in this listing.
I decided to add wool applique flowers, buds and vines to add a dimensional interest, just because. I love to experiment and try new things so I added MORE flowers, to imitate my tangled gardens, just outside my windows. I need to weed my gardens but kind of love that tangled, grown-together look.
I love it so I hope you'll love it, too!
