This primitive star pattern is an off-shoot of my daughter's drawing from her childhood. She drew an amazing little card for a friend and the flower on the front of the card was this star. She had embellished the star with all sorts of details that I've included in this pattern. The star isn't symmetrical or even because that's how she drew it, as a child. I love it's simplicity and uneven shape! I wanted the star to be the feature and just hooked a hit and miss background and a saw-tooth border on 2 sides. The finished hooked dimension is 17"x25", without a corded edge or bound border. My rug is a little wonky because I took my hooking camping one summer and left the pattern on the frame too long.
