Primitive Basket Hooked Rug Pattern

from $92.00
This design was one of my first designs. It came about from a saved scrap of wall paper with a simple floral basket on it. I am a saver of images that inspire me...I never know where or how they will end up. This is a large oval rug pattern and looks great in from of our couch. It is a 30.5x53" pattern drawn on monks cloth or primitive linen. I love the dark background but it could be just a lovely hooked in a different color palette. I always imagine how I will hook a design, "the next time" I hook it but I haven't hooked anything twice. There just isn't enough time! The design is large but a simple one and will hook up quickly!

I hand draw the design on grain onto the foundation, leaving a generous 4" of foundation around the design, for ease of hooking. I also hem the foundation to prevent raveling.

This listing is for a pattern drawn on primitive linen foundation.
